It was a pleasure for Zoewebs to support JCI Malaysia in its journey towards digitalisation.
Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCI Malaysia) is a national organisation made up of multiple local chapters across Malaysia. With a large membership base and many chapters operating independently, managing membership, awards, events, chapter information and communication required a comprehensive digital solution.
JCI Malaysia approached Zoewebs with a vision to bring these different functions together under one central digital platform.
The project went beyond simply redesigning a website. It involved developing an integrated ecosystem covering membership management, eAward submission, chapter administration, events, eCommerce and mobile applications.
The goal was to create a platform that could serve different levels of the organisation — from the national administration team to individual chapters and members — while making everyday management more efficient.

2. Customer Requirement: One Digital Platform for JCI Malaysia
JCI Malaysia required a comprehensive digital platform that could support its national organisation, chapters and members.
The key requirements included:
- Website
- eAward Submission System
- Membership Management System
- Chapter Management System
- Event Management System
- eCommerce / Online Store
- Mobile App for iOS & Android
Rather than having these functions operating separately, JCI Malaysia wanted to bring them together into one integrated system.
The platform also needed to support different user levels, including national administrators, chapter administrators and individual members.
For example, the membership system included different membership access levels and functions such as membership registration, newsletters, restricted content, virtual membership cards and award submission.

3. Challenges
Building a digital platform for a large organisation came with several challenges.
One System, Multiple Functions
The platform needed to combine many different functions — from membership and awards to events, chapters and eCommerce — under one system.
Highly Customised Requirements
JCI Malaysia had its own organisational structure and workflows. The system therefore needed to be customised around the way JCI operates rather than relying entirely on standard software features.
Multiple User Levels
The system needed to support different roles and access levels, from national administrators to chapter administrators and individual members.
The presentation, for example, defines a separate LO Admin role for chapter administration, including member approval and award submission functions.
High Traffic & Bandwidth
With a national organisation, multiple chapters and a growing number of users accessing the platform, the website required a stronger hosting environment than conventional shared hosting.

4. Solution
To meet these requirements, Zoewebs developed a centralised digital ecosystem using a combination of WordPress, customised systems and cloud infrastructure.
Website
WordPress was used as the core platform, providing a flexible foundation for the main website.
Membership functionality was integrated and customised according to JCI Malaysia’s requirements.
A comprehensive form system was also selected and customised to support the eAward submission process, allowing award entries to be submitted and managed digitally.
Integrated Systems
The platform was developed to bring multiple functions together:
Membership · eAward · Chapter Management · Events · eCommerce
This allowed JCI Malaysia to manage different aspects of its organisation through one central platform.
Cloud Infrastructure
To support higher traffic, bandwidth and system requirements, the website was upgraded from shared hosting to cloud hosting.
This provided a stronger infrastructure for the growing digital platform.
Stage-by-Stage Development
Instead of attempting to develop everything at once, the project was implemented stage by stage.
This allowed each component to be developed, tested and refined before moving on to the next stage.
5. Execution
Website Development
Redesign & Development
Zoewebs redesigned and developed the JCI Malaysia website to create a more comprehensive digital platform.
The website brought together organisational information, membership, news, events, knowledge resources and other digital services. The presentation also shows sections such as JCI information, areas and chapter listings, national projects, sponsors, contact information and a knowledgebase.

eAward Submission System
Previously, JCI Malaysia used Google Drive to collect award submission data.
Zoewebs developed a dedicated eAward Submission System within the JCI Malaysia website, replacing the previous data collection approach with a more structured and centralised workflow.
The system allowed authorised users to submit award entries online and subsequently access their submitted entries.

Membership System
A membership system was developed to allow members to manage their membership information and access member-related functions through their accounts.
The system also supported different membership types and access privileges.

Chapter Management System
The platform was designed to support JCI Malaysia’s network of local chapters.
Chapter administrators could access dedicated administration functions, including member activation and management.
Event & eCommerce System
Event management and online store functionality were also incorporated into the wider platform, allowing JCI Malaysia to manage events and online transactions within the same digital ecosystem.
Deployment
Migration to Cloud
As the platform grew, the website was migrated from shared hosting to cloud infrastructure.
This provided a more suitable environment for a system with multiple functions and users.
Testing & Fine-Tuning
Each stage was tested and fine-tuned before being deployed.
This helped ensure that the different components could work together properly across the various user levels.
Mobile App
iOS & Android Development
As part of the digital transformation, Zoewebs also developed a JCI Malaysia mobile application for both:
iOS · Android
The mobile app extended JCI Malaysia’s digital platform beyond the website and provided members with another way to access the organisation’s digital services.
The project presentation identifies both the JCI Malaysia website and mobile apps as key components of the digital platform.
App Store Deployment
The mobile application was subsequently launched on both:
Apple App Store · Google Play Store

Handover & Training
After deployment, Zoewebs provided training for different levels of users.
National Administration
Training was provided to the central administration team to manage the overall system.
Chapter Administration
Training was also provided to chapter-level administrators so that local chapters could manage their own functions within the platform.
This approach allowed the system to support both centralised national management and decentralised chapter operations.
Ongoing Support
The project did not end after deployment.
Zoewebs provided two years of ongoing support across different user levels.
Support included:
- Technical support
- Application support
- Bug fixing
- Content updates
- Administrator support
- Chapter-level support
This provided JCI Malaysia with continued technical assistance as administrators and chapters used the platform in their day-to-day operations.

6. Outcome
A Comprehensive Digital Platform
Zoewebs developed a comprehensive digital platform bringing multiple organisational functions together under one system.
Website + Membership + eAward + Chapters + Events + eCommerce + Mobile App
JCI Malaysia’s First Mobile App
The project resulted in the development and launch of JCI Malaysia’s mobile application, extending its digital services to iOS and Android users.
More Efficient Award Submission
The eAward system provided a structured digital process for award submission, helping reduce reliance on manual submission and administration.
Centralised Membership Management
Members could manage their membership through one platform, while the system also allowed users to search for and access member information according to their access level.
Supporting Multiple Chapters
The platform provided a central digital infrastructure while allowing individual chapters to manage their own operations.
Recognition from JCI Community
The project also received positive feedback and testimonials from JCI organisations in other countries, including JCI Singapore and JCI Thailand, demonstrating the wider relevance of the digital solution.

7. Conclusion
One-Stop Digital Solution for Large Organisations
The JCI Malaysia project demonstrated how a complex organisation can bring multiple digital functions together under one integrated platform.
Instead of using separate systems for different purposes, the platform connects:
Website · Membership · Award Submission · Chapter Management · Events · eCommerce · Mobile App
Centralised + Decentralised
The solution provides a central platform for national administration while giving chapters and members access to the functions relevant to them.
This creates a more structured digital ecosystem that can support a large organisation with multiple levels of users.
Built for Complex Organisations
The project also demonstrated that digital transformation does not necessarily mean replacing everything at once.
By developing the system stage by stage, integrating customised functions and upgrading the infrastructure when required, a complex organisation can gradually build a comprehensive digital platform.
One Platform. Multiple Functions. One Digital Ecosystem.
